Service Description
Aspects covered: 1) To swim or not to swim? Information on tides, wind, waves etc... 2) Staying safe; Risks associated with outdoor swimming including hypothermia, after drop and marine animals (yes that pesky seal!) 3) What if something goes wrong? First aid and practical help on what to do in an emergency situation using what you would normally have on hand as a swimmer. 4) Fears and Anxieties. What lies beneath? Practical tips on how to get those emotions under control when dealing with "irrational fears" 5) SWIM, a fun swim with plenty of safety crew on hand to support you, whether this is your first time or you're a regular swimmer/dipper. No prior experience required, you can be in a swimsuit or wetsuit and we will lend you a tow float if you haven't got one. The workshop will be based at Newton's or Bowleaze Cove depending on weather conditions Practical course with both land and sea based activities, taught by qualified open water swimming coaches and Surf and Beach Lifeguards.
