Service Description
We have 5 days of swimming planned to explore the Jurassic Coast. Brownsea Island Old Harry Rocks Dancing Ledge Durdle Door Portland Bill We hope to visit them all! Swims will vary each day, with a minimum distance of 1.25km up to 3km but we will adapt each swim to the abilities of those on the swims. Speed is not important as these will be guided swims, with the emphasis on exploring the stunning Jurassic Coastline. We will set each day 48hrs beforehand according to weather conditions. All itineraries have a walking option for those that only want to do 1 swim. Friday night we will swim at Lulworth cove and have fish n chips on the beach afterwards. Saturday we will run a 1-2k and a 3k swim so you can chose your distance. Wednesday will be a half day and finish at 1pm Example itinerary: A) 10am walk to Dancing Ledge 11am 1.25k swim to Seacombe Cliff via caves and caverns 12.30am picnic lunch on the ledges at Seacombe Cliff 13.30 1.25k swim to Winspit Quarry for cake and hot chocolate or walk along the coast path if you don't fancy a second swim 15.00 walk back to Worth Matravers B) 10am walk to Durdle Door 10.30am 1-3k swim to Lulworth (depending on ability) 12.30 picnic lunch on the beach 13.30 2.5k swim to Mupe Bay or walk there and dip 14.30 cake and hot choc 15.00 walk back C) 10am meet at Portland Bill 10.30 1.25k explore around the caves, caverns and ledges around Red Crane 11.30 cake and hot choc break 12.00 2.25k swim to Church Ope Cove 13.00 picnic lunch 14.00 walk back to Portland Bill 13.00 Dip at Pulpit Rock (if conditions allow) D) 10am RIB boat over to Brownsea Island 11.00 1.5k swim 12.00 picnic lunch on beach 13.00 1.5k swim 14.00 cake and hot chocolate 14.30 walk on the Island to RIB pick up E) 10am RIB boat to Swanage 11.00 2.5k swim to Old Harry Rocks 12.00 Cake and hot chocolate stop 12.30 1.25k swim to South Beach 13.30 Lunch stop 14.30 1.25k swim to knoll beach, Studland All swims are weather dependent and we cannot guarantee which swim we will do on which day, it's a lucky dip! Although the Lulworth swim will be most likely on the weekend due to the firing ranges being live during the week. Come and do 1 day or all 4 the choice is yours. If you would like to camp somewhere there are plenty of local campsites available. We would suggest basing yourself around Lulworth, Winfrith Newburgh or Crossways to be fairly central to all the swims.
