Swim Weekends 2025

The Long Distance Training | 4 Days of swimming | The Original JCS camp | Brownsea Island | The Ultimate Jurassic Swim

28th June-2nd July 2025

4 days to explore and enjoy the incredible Jurassic Coast! Join us for one day, or all four! Swims will be every morning and afternoon with a lunch stop at a café or pub. The itinerary is flexible as we want to take advantage of the best weather conditions for you. Swims will vary in distance depending on abilities, but we will try to accommodate everyone's needs. As a rule we will swim up to 3k a day over a couple of swims, with the option for longer swims on some days.

DAY 1: 1-2km Swim

Day 2: Adventure Day Swim

Day 3: Explorer Day Swim

Day 4: 1/2 Day Explorer Swim

Highlights:

  • Adventure swim away from the crowds at Dancing Ledge or Portland Bill with coasteering style jumps an optional extra

  • Evening swim at Lulworth Cove with Fish n Chip supper on the beach

  • Ample cake and hot chocolate

  • Fully guided swims with the Jurassic Coast experts

Accommodation is not included as we feel people like different things. If you base yourself around the Lulworth/Winfrith area you wont  have too far to travel each day.

Book using the links above for singular days, or get in touch to join us for all four days!

8th-10th August 2025

This swim weekend is all about going the distance. Pushing yourself to swim a little further while enjoying the stunning surroundings of the Jurassic Coast. This part of the UK is perfect for training for those longer distance swims, as we have coastline facing in different directions, so we can always swim somewhere. It is not a boot camp, our ethos as always is to have fun while doing something you love.

Friday (midday): An introductory workshop followed by our first 3km swim. There will be experienced open water coaches on hand to give you some tips and advice for you to work on throughout the weekend. Post swim we will have a fish n chip supper (provided by us) before retiring to your accommodation.

Saturday: We will meet in Weymouth for breakfast and a workshop before heading to the beach for our first swim session. We will aim to do a 1-2 hour swim in the morning, have lunch at a café and finish the day with a further 60-90 minute swim (optional).

Sunday, the big one! We will meet at the Pig on Studland for breakfast and our final workshop. We aim to do a 5-8km swim followed by a relaxing beach sauna to help restore those muscles, along with a final Q & A session where you can ask any questions and consolidate what you have learnt over the weekend.

The workshops will cover nutrition & hydration, strength & flexibility training, and other practical aspects of a long distance swim including training plans.

Highlights:

  • Expert swim coaching from coaches who have done marathon & endurance swims themselves

  • Breakfast meetings and workshops Saturday and Sunday

  • Stunning locations to swim in

  • Beach sauna Sunday afternoon

  • Relaxed atmosphere for you to get the most out of YOUR training

  • The opportunity to swim between 10km and 18km over the 3 days

  • Professional guides, lifeguards & coaches supporting you every step of the way

  • Accommodation not included this year as some people prefer a comfy bed and others a tent!

So if you are wanting to swim the Ultra 33.3 #10Montenegro, Lake Windemere, the English Channel, Dart 10k or simply want to spend 3 days swimming this fantastic area, come and join us.

Cost includes all swims, Friday evening meal, sauna, workshops, breakfast Saturday & Sunday, rib transport, swim coaching and the all important expertise of the Jurassic Coast Swimming Safety Crew.

12th-14th September 2025

Think fun camp rather than boot camp.

2 nights basic camping near Winfrith Newburgh, Dorset, the perfect location for us to explore the stunning Jurassic Coastline by land and sea.

Friday night: Set up your pitch and then join us for a communal evening meal, where you will meet your fellow swimmers, coaches and safety crew. Watch the sun go down (hopefully!) listen out for the owls and nightjars and get a good nights kip ready to swim the following day.

Saturday: In the morning we will head to the sea for an hour or so of coaching before setting off on our first swim adventure. We will stop for lunch on one of the beaches or at a café before doing a second swim in the afternoon. Swims will be tailored to the overall group but as a guide we will swim 1-2k each time and we will often walk along the coast path to reach the swim start. There will be plenty of stops for hot chocolate and cake! Back to the campsite for the evening to warm up in the hot tub before heading to the nearby pub for supper or fish and chips if the weather is fine.

Sunday: We will be looking to do a single longer swim of around 3k, but there will be a shorter option for those that want it. The swim will be in a different location to the previous day.

Swim locations will be dependant on weather and we will chose the safest and most scenic locations that we can. You will be in and out of the water, swimming, walking and generally enjoying this fantastic stretch of coastline and all it has to offer. From Old Harry's to Durdle Door, Dancing ledge to Newtons cove, it will not disappoint you.

Cost includes campsite, swims, cake, rib ride, evening meals, swim coaching and the all important expertise of the Jurassic Coast Swimming Safety Crew

Ladies only Bunkhouse Retreat 11th-14th July 2025

We are running a ladies only full moon retreat this year. Sorry gents!

Highlights include:

  • Sunrise and full moon swims

  • Evening walk with our nature expert to listen out for nightjars and other nocturnal creatures

  • Daily yoga sessions

  • 2 relaxed swims a day

  • Breakfast and supper provided

The bunkhouse on the beach at Brownsea Island. As you may know the island is only accessible by boat, so this is a real getaway. There are 4 dorms of 2 bunkbeds in each,  room for 12 people in total.

Facilities are basic but comfortable. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and all your kit in a rucksack via the ferry. Your kit will be transported to the house once on the island. If you would like any further details please do email me and I can send you a link to the accommodation.

As with all Jurassic Coast Swimming events we will pack as much swimming in as possible, interspersed with lots of cake! We will provide breakfast and supper each day you are there, and lunch will be a café stop wherever we are swimming that day.

We will be making the most of swimming in these wonderful clear waters, choosing the safest and most fun locations depending on the weather. The emphasis is on a relaxed pace so experience and speed are not pre-requisites. The waters are quite fast and very tidal so some fun swooshes will be guaranteed along with a sunset swim on one of the evenings.

The cost includes 3 nights accommodation, all swims, safety crew & swim guides, swim hats, food except lunch, alcohol and any extra snacks you may need.

18k over 3 days, 25th-27th July 2025

The ultimate swim adventure over 3 days swimming from Weymouth to Worbarrow Bay, including at Ringstead, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

The swims will be split into Day 1, 5k, Day 2, 2x4k and Day 3, 5k.

Please see the link here for the proposed route, obviously subject to weather changes where we will have a plan B.

We will have 3 swim pods of fast, medium and steady each with their own safety crew. This should ensure everyone gets to swim at their own pace without too many stops, although as always with JCS swims, the idea is to enjoy your surroundings and not race from A to B.

You will have your own ruckraft to transport your kit as you swim, so you will also need a 30-40L rucksack. They are a fantastic piece of kit and you really don't feel them when you are swimming.

You MUST be an experienced open water swimmer and able to swim about 2.25k/hr or faster.  Proof will be required. If you are unsure, please do ask. Swim experience is more important than speed.

This is a completely unique experience, so please do come and join us for this fantastic Adventure on the Jurassic Coast.

Accommodation is not provided as we feel everyone is different and some will prefer to camp and others will prefer the more comfy prospect of a hotel. If you base yourself around Durdle Door and Lulworth this will be ideal. If we need to change the swim route you will still be fairly central. We will provide all food during the day ie packed lunches if its a full day swim, cake and hot chocolate at the end and some gels and healthy snacks for during the swims.

Training plans, nutritional advice, zoom chats and general help to assist you to train for this event will also be available.

Extra information: There will be a maximum of 15 swimmers per camp. Swim hats and Fourth Element Ponchos will be provided. Further information will be sent to you prior to the swim, but please ask if there's anything else you would like to know. 16+ age limit is recommended on this swim, family swims are also available, please ask if you are interested.

Weather Caveat: Due to the great British weather we may not always be able to offer all the swims advertised, but we will always endeavour to swim safely somewhere. If there is a named storm due to hit over the weekend of the swim, we may well have to cancel due to safety on and off the sea. We wil try to re schedule the event or offer you a refund, minus the £25 admin fee. Please see terms and conditions for more detailed information regarding our cancellation policies.
